What is the brief introduction of XPON network?
The xPON network uses a single strand of Optical Fiber to carry network signals and solves the problem of the last mile of the network. The ONU converts the optical signal into an electrical signal during the access test for use by the terminal equipment using the network cable. Early xPON used optical fiber to reach the building, ONU equipment was placed in the corridor, and multiple network cables were sent to different households. With the increase in bandwidth demand, ONU equipment is now generally placed directly in the households, one fiber at a time. This kind of small home ONU often integrates the functions of some home routers and set-top boxes, and this kind of small home ONU is called an ONT.
