What is the difference between switch and ONU device?
1.ONU:Optical network unit,placed on the user side,an integral part of the EPON network,and the other two parts are OLT and ODN (optical distribution network).The signal sent by the OLT reaches each ONU through the ODN.
2.Switches:ONUs and switches look similar in appearance,especially pure broadband ONUs.The difference is that ONUs can integrate voice modules and use soft-switch technology to achieve voice communication,while switches can only open broadband services.In addition,ONU only needs one Optical Fiber for uplink,because EPON network uses wavelength division multiplexing technology to realize single-fiber bidirectional transmission,so there is only one optical port on ONU;if the switch wants to use optical fiber transmission,it must use two optical fibers,Receive a post.
